Watching a sports spectacle live and on the venue itself is unbeatable. The next best thing is to view it on TV but if you are on the road this becomes quite a task. You may have a portable TV in your car or SUV but the images you see sure doesn’t do justice to the excitement brought by being on the scene. A 3 inch screen just doesn’t cut it. Bringing a full sized 21 inch one is not really practical at all, unless perhaps you are on an RV. The best solution: sports radios.
I remember the first radio I saw when I was about six or seven years old. It had vaccum tubes! It took forever to turn on and it was almost the size of four shoe boxes! Nowadays, radios come in small sizes that putting one in your pocket is never a problem. Sports radios specially fall into this category since their users are most always on the go. Not only are they affordable but they are durable and of good value. Being digital, they usually give the best sound ever.
Radio announcers covering a sports event usually are better equipped in describing the action since they have to realistically paint all the movements in the mind of the listeners. Unlike on TV where the announcers can choose to be silent and still the action won’t be lost on the viewers, announcers covering sports action to be aired over the radio have to be on top of every movement of the athletes to better convey what they see live to the listeners who could only imagine what they are seeing. And because of this, the listening experience is enhanced and listeners share more in the action.
Thus, when I am on the road, even aboard my bike either on my way to work or on a trail ride, I prefer to bring my trusted sports radio when I have to be updated on my team’s progress against their lame opponents.
