Yes, that is what Becca believes I am.
What is fabulous? I searched for its definition, and I had to sift trough several ones in order to say, well, this one is for me. Ardictionary has the following definitions:
Fabulous 1
Definition: Feigned, as a story or fable; related in fable; devised; invented; not real; fictitious; as, a fabulous description; a fabulous hero.
Fabulous 2
Definition: Passing belief; exceedingly great; as, a fabulous price.
fabulous 3
Definition: barely credible; “the fabulous endurance of a marathon runner”
fabulous 4
Definition: extremely pleasing; “a fabulous vacation”
fabulous 5
Definition: based on or told of in traditional stories; lacking factual basis or historical validity; “mythical centaurs”; “the fabulous unicorn”
Which one of these definition applies to me? I believe it would be the fourth one. “Extremely pleasing”, as in “fabulous biker”. Doesn’t that sound nice? For me it does, of course. Not only that, it pleases me too, to know that some body out there thinks of me as such. That should make those monotonous bike rides going home pleasant ones. Knowing that at least one person, well other than my wife and kids, thinks that biking is a worthwhile activity to sustain.
I told Becca I only have one reservation though. The color of the icon doesn’t match my theme! I just have to put up with it and let you decide.
But I don’t dislike pink as a color at all. In fact the cycling jersey we had for the 9th Tour of the Fireflies is pink and I loved it. See for yourself:
Nice tummies! No, we weren’t showing them off. The jerseys, please focus on the jerseys. Now indeed, with this picture, could you imagine me as the “Fabulous Rural Pinoy Biker” ? I think I should change my domain name now.
Fabulous Bloggers these people are:
Flygirl - Surprise, she flies a helicopter! What could be more fabulous than that for an earthbound biker?
Iva - a go green young girl advocating for cleaner cities.
Carmela - a triathlete who has biked with the best in the Bike for Life journey to Mindanao organized by the Cancer Warriors Foundation.
Speedcat Hollidale - a fabulous suburbanite, working overtime. I hope he likes pink too.
I have so many other fabulous bloggers in my list, but somebody beat me to giving them this award. But oh well, you know who you are. So let’s blog and be fabulous all.
Critical Mass Ride Update:
Tomorrow is Critical Mass Ride day for the Firefly Brigade. As I have posted previously, the ride will start at the UP Diliman AS parking lot. The actual route may be different though as there will a concurrent event to be held near the end of the ride. There might be some moderate to heavy vehicular traffic in the area, so we may make some detours near the end.
I will not be joining the ride itself because I have volunteered to set up the Firefly booth inside the Mall of Asia where we are going to have an exhibit. I am supposed to be there as early as 5:00 am, but I told the other Parplays (this is our “term of endearment” for the Brigade members) that I couldn’t make it at that time. I get off my work at 12 midnight and I must have at least 4 hours of sleep to function well. I plan to leave the house at 5:30 am so I could be at MOA at around 6:30 am.

Hey! You look pretty sharp in the pink cycling jersey. Lean & mean!! I am not afraid of the color either, and occasionally sport pink shirt myself.
I know exactly what you mean about sleep. I can function on 4 or 5. 2-3 hours and I never really wake up, and feel nervous all day.
Your blog sure looks fantastic. I think about working with my page template once in a while…I just never get to it.
Thanks for this award
I am doing a catch up post this weekend and will proudly show it off.
Will you be having demonstations at the “Firefly booth” ?
I am going back to my blog and add your link to my sidebar. I’m not the best at getting around to blogging friends sometimes - this will remind me to stop in more often.
Happy Day to you - and get that rest.
:)
hmmn.. pink. i remember having spoken with one marikina official and he said marikina’s pink cause it’s a city in the pink of health. now, that’s one ultra pink jersey you have there.. hehehe.. meaning, fab and healthy biker?
thanks for the award kuya, inspiring.. and know what? this one’s a pleasant “birthday” surprise ;)thanks a lot. hugs
iva’s last blog post..What can we do about Climate Change?
@Iva: I am happy to know that this award is a birthday surprise to you! Of course naman, I wouldn’t ask how young are you but I do know that your energy to do things could carry you to do more for the environment and how others could contribute too. Yes, Marikina is in the pink of health, that’s the idea behind the use of the color pink. Everything that the city has built is colored pink, from the chairs used in meetings to the urinals in the streets. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
@Eric: no we didn’t do any demos in our booth. We just displayed our banners and other stuffs, though my bike was part of the exhibit in the booth. I didn’t have a camera, only a camera phone and I still haven’t downloaded the pictures. My bike had a flat tire as soon as I arrived at the venue and it was there in the booth for all to see.
Thanks for the link!
