The Bike for Life project took off yesterday, September 16, from the parking lot of the Alabang Town Center. A group of 30 riders started to pedal at 7:55 AM. The group consists of 7 core riders, fathers and relatives of the wards of the Cancer Warrior Foundation. Others in the group are members of the Firefly Brigade, namely: Eric Reyes, himself suffering from cancer, Caroline Gaw and Ricky Pineda, the current president of the Firefly Brigade, who is also acting as photographer. Also joining them is the Team David Salon, the first all-women multisport team in the Philippines.
This group was joined later by some members of the Batangas Mountain Bikers in Lipa City, Batangas. After several stops and unlimited bottles of Gatoraid, the group arrived at Batangas city at 1:10 pm. A short rest followed and then the cancer forum began.
Later in the afternoon, the team headed for Calapan, Oriental Mindoro via ro-ro.

I also wanted to join this trip, but had no such luck. It would be very much in keeping with the idea of this blog if I were able to join. Anyway, this is an annual project so we still have a chance to join in the future.
