I must have done something right yesterday. My bike commute going home was as uneventful as it could be. I arrived home a little later than usual, the reason being the same as why it took me 45 minutes of pedaling to arrive at work. The ride home is actually a little harder than going to work because of a short but lowgrade uphill climb. I shifted to the granny gears to negotiate it and I didn’t feel exhausted at the top. Though the feat wasn’t actually a confidence builder, I was glad that I made it. I used to do that uphill using my smallest gear and without having to fear exhaustion. Now I am just glad that I am able to bike at all.
Perhaps because of the stress relief I felt after that ride, I slept like a baby the whole night. (For me, night starts at around 2:00 am and ends at day break as usual.) Though I woke up at around 5:30 AM because it was my turn to bring our son to school, I felt refreshed.
Encouraged by my “success” the previous day, I decided that I would bike again to work today and I should say the same as last night, it was uneventful. It’s great.

Hi Angelo, I’m glad we are together in this endeavor. Best if more will join us. This is actually what we do in the Firefly Brigade, promote biking and preservation of the environment. My biking to work is part of that effort. I actually just told my wife yesterday that I come to work in my bike, with head up high than those who come in their latest model car. And if they offered me one, I wouldn’t accept it. But thinking about it, yes I would accept a new car, but I would sell it and get me a better bike. lol….
